Nearly 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, bringing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage

Locals witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
